iPad: Add to Home Screen
- In Safari, open the app at wordbyword.cc/app.
- Tap the Share button in Safari's toolbar.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add, then launch Word By Word from the new icon on your Home Screen.
macOS: Add to Dock
- In Safari, open the app at wordbyword.cc/app.
- Go to File > Add to Dock, or click the Share button and choose Add to Dock.
- Confirm the name Word By Word.
- Launch from your Dock — it opens as its own app window.
Important:
Open /app first, then save it. Saving the landing page won't give you the full app experience — the app needs to be open so Safari captures the correct icon and launch behavior.

What languages and voices are available?
English (8 voices: US and UK accents) and Spanish (6 voices: Mexico and Spain). Each voice has its own natural character — pick the one that fits your ear.
Does it work on phones or Android?
Not yet. The current product focus is macOS and iPad so the practice experience can stay stable and polished.
Do I need to install anything from an app store?
No. Open wordbyword.cc/app in Safari, then save it to your Home Screen (iPad) or Dock (Mac) — see the guide above. It works offline and looks like a real app.
What is the main learning method?
